Dr. Smith founded Mesa Vista Veterinary Hospital and practiced for 51 years before retiring in December 2021. He is a native of Northern New Mexico and obtained his veterinary degree from Colorado State University.
His expertise includes companion animals, cattle and horses. During retirement he plans to continue raising horses and cattle, serving as a 4-H leader and enjoying spending more time with his family and grandchildren.
Dr. Jaclyn Davis graduated from veterinary school at Colorado State University. Her professional interests include equine medicine, ultrasound, horse and cattle reproduction, preventative medicine for all species, and small animal surgery. Her favorite thing about being a veterinarian is getting to know pets and their owners, and seeing how much people care for their animals. In her free time Dr. Davis enjoys riding and training horses, painting, and hiking with her husband Tyler and her three dogs - Alaska, Willow and Rooster.
Dr. Kate is a Raton local and has deep roots within the community. She studied Animal Science and Ruminant Nutrition at New Mexico State prior to attending veterinary school at Washington State University. Her professional interests include bovine medicine and obstetrics, ruminant nutrition, and companion animal medicine and surgery. In her spare time, Dr. Kate enjoys fishing with her husband, Eric, helping on the family ranch, and spending time with family and friends.
